On September 26-27, 2025, the "Zero Emission Engineering Machinery Promotion and Application Seminar" jointly organized by the China Construction Machinery Industry Association (hereinafter referred to as the Construction Machinery Association) and the China Academy of Environmental Sciences (hereinafter referred to as the Chinese Academy of Environmental Sciences), and supported by the Beijing Representative Office of the International Commission on Clean Transportation (USA) (hereinafter referred to as ICCT), was successfully held in Beijing. Representatives from government departments, research institutions, industry enterprises, and related organizations gathered together to discuss and exchange ideas on topics such as the development, promotion, and application of global zero emission construction machinery and upstream and downstream industrial chains, as well as excellent pilot cases from around the world. They also focused on the research task of non road mobile machinery cleaning for major special projects in the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region, jointly exploring the promotion path and innovative practices of zero emission construction machinery.
Cui Mingming, Deputy Director of the Mobile Source Department of the Atmospheric Environment Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, Xu Yisheng, Chief Engineer of the Chinese Academy of Environmental Sciences, and Wu Peiguo, Secretary General of the China Construction Machinery Industry Association, attended the meeting and delivered speeches. Cui Mingming stated that it is necessary to fully understand the current situation faced by air pollution prevention and control, clarify the importance of continuous emission reduction in the field of mobile sources, and call on all parties to gather consensus and work together. Xu Yisheng stated that the Chinese Academy of Environmental Sciences will continue to uphold an open and cooperative attitude, play a good role in technological support and bridging, and inject new impetus into promoting the global zero emission transformation of construction machinery. Wu Peiguo stated that construction machinery is an important component of China's equipment manufacturing industry and one of the key industries for energy conservation and emission reduction. Since the 14th Five Year Plan, the construction machinery industry has actively implemented the national "dual carbon" development strategy, and the level of advanced industrial foundation and modern industrial chain has been greatly improved. Electric construction machinery represented by electric loaders, forklifts, mining dump trucks, etc. has developed rapidly and has been applied in specific scenarios such as infrastructure construction, ports, mines, logistics, and municipal construction. The meeting conducted special reports on two topics. One is to focus on the opportunities, challenges, and policy prospects of zero emissions in construction machinery. The guests systematically shared their explorations and achievements in policy promotion, urban practice, and market experience at home and abroad. The second is to focus on the development and promotion of zero emission engineering machinery technology. The guests introduced the development and application of new energy machinery and its "three electricity" technology, as well as energy replenishment technology, from the perspective of technological progress and practical experience in both manufacturing and user ends.
