Excavator Engine Maintenance

Jun 19, 2022

The excavator has very strict requirements for maintenance, so every machine friend dares not to slack off in the maintenance work. However, during the construction process, many machine operators do not grasp the maintenance time accurately enough, so they miss the maintenance time, resulting in various failures of the excavator. Generally, the water temperature is controlled within the range of 80-90 degrees. The engine has the best usability, economy and power performance, the lightest wear, and long service life.

Causes for high water temperature fault of excavator engine:

1 the oil supply time of excavator engine is too late.

2. The atomization of the excavator nozzle is poor.

3. Poor operation and poor circulating capacity of excavator water pump will also cause high water temperature of excavator engine.

4. Poor heat dissipation effect of water tank will also cause high water temperature of excavator engine.

5 poor operation of the excavator thermostat will also affect the high water temperature of the excavator engine.

6 the small circulation is not blocked after the thermostat is removed.

7. Poor hot air duct, including deformation of fan blade, direct "short circuit" of air inlet and outlet, displacement of machine foot pad, etc.

8 the high water temperature is not only caused by the engine, but also by the hydraulic or excavator:

(1) The high oil temperature of the hydraulic torque converter of the excavator causes the high water temperature of the excavator engine through water circulation.

(2) The hydraulic oil return of the excavator is not smooth, resulting in high water temperature of the excavator engine.

(3) During work, the cooling system shall be filled with clean soft water as much as possible, and the cooling system shall be cleaned in time to prevent excessive accumulation of scale The test shows that the thermal conductivity of scale is far lower than that of cast iron and aluminum. After more scale is accumulated in the radiator core of the water tank, the heat dissipation speed of the engine will slow down and the water temperature will increase, resulting in dezincification of the brass radiator core and holes. However, the increase of scale in the water channel of the engine body will slow down the heat transfer speed, and the heat in the engine body can not be transferred to the cooling water in time, resulting in overheating of the engine and abnormal operation of the engine, although the water temperature is not too high.
