How To Protect My Winter Loader From Cold Weather?

Apr 22, 2020

Send a few digging machine winter skills to make your equipment easily withstand the cold winter.

Add engine heater

Many times, the loader engine heater is often a simple way for you to start the engine in a cold climate because it increases the temperature of the engine and hydraulic fluid. In order to speed up the preheating process, it will restrict the work of the radiator to prevent the entry of cold air from the fan.

Check before starting work

The simple way is to check whether the electric wires and hoses of the excavator are worn before starting each day, and to see if each part is damaged. Check all hydraulic hoses, belts and tires for cracks, scratches and wear points. In addition, the snow, dirt and debris accumulated in the tires and landing gear should be removed. In winter, landing gear inspection is also a necessary process.

The engine of the loader should be operated to the normal working temperature

Before you start working every day, don't forget to start the engine for a period of time to let it reach the normal working temperature, and then start working. This can effectively prevent clogging of the intake and exhaust valves.

Adhere to the battery charge and room temperature

In cold climates, digging machines often consume more electricity. In turn, in a warm environment, the excavator can generally be easily activated. If the outdoor temperature has reached below zero, you can store the battery indoors when not in use to maintain normal temperature.

Add lubricating oil used in severe cold season and maintain hydraulic hoses

Before the climate gets colder, install the right engine, hydraulic oil, transmission and transmission oil for your excavator. Before the engine, make sure that all parts are filled with liquid. You can look at each oil gauge, and if the oil can drip, clarify that its amount is satisfactory. In addition, the outer packaging of hydraulic hoses will crack and twist in cold weather. Therefore, you can use anti-freezing hydraulic oil in the cold season, so that the hydraulic hose of the digging machine can be maintained during normal operation.
