Good battery maintenance can not only improve the service life of the battery, but also save costs and avoid the waste of time of frequent battery replacement. In the face of the test of high temperature climate, the maintenance of forklift battery is particularly important, because they will also face the trouble of replenishing "water".
During the charging, discharging and storage of forklift battery, some water will evaporate due to the use environment and internal high-temperature reaction, resulting in water shortage of the battery. If water is not added to the battery in time, the service life of the forklift battery in the state of water shortage for a long time will be affected.

Regularly replenish "water" to the battery as an essential step of maintenance. In the process of using the battery, it is necessary to regularly check the water shortage status of the battery according to the use environment and temperature. It is recommended to check once a month to replenish water to the battery in time.
So when checking the battery liquid level, how to judge that the battery is short of water?
At present, there are three kinds of liquid filling caps on the market: ordinary basket type liquid filling cap, buoy type liquid filling cap and automatic water filling system liquid filling cap. Different liquid filling caps have different water filling methods and liquid level standards. The normal liquid level range of forklift battery is shown in the figure below:

When the liquid level of the battery is lower than the minimum liquid level, it is necessary to replenish water to the battery between the maximum and minimum liquid levels.
Secondly, when replenishing the forklift battery with "water", pay attention to the following matters:
◆ use special battery distilled water and say no to unqualified distilled water! It is guaranteed to buy only through formal channels.
◆ adhere to the principle of adding a small amount of water for many times, and it is strictly prohibited to add too much water. Battery water is weakly corrosive, and overflow will corrode the battery box and cause perforation.
◆ add water at the end of charging (usually one hour before the end of charging). It is not recommended to add water during battery use.
◆ do not forget the liquid filling plug. After adding water, cover the liquid filling plug to prevent impurities from entering the battery cell, resulting in short circuit of the electrode plate and shortening the service life of the battery.
