2022 has entered the countdown, and the trend of this year has been set. Affected by the general environment in November, the sales volume of heavy trucks is still hovering in the declining channel. Is the market expected to rebound at the bottom next year?
Sales volume in November decreased by 7% month on month
In the penultimate month of 2022, the sales of heavy trucks still showed a "downward" trend. In November, the heavy truck market sold 45000 vehicles (invoicing caliber, including exports and new energy), a month on month decrease of 7%, a year-on-year decrease of 12%, and a net decrease of more than 6100 vehicles.
In terms of the current cumulative sales volume, compared with last year, the heavy truck market in 2022 is expected to have more than a "waist discount", with a year-on-year decline of 52%. If it is not for new energy heavy trucks and overseas exports to make up, I am afraid the overall market decline will be even greater. The reasons for this situation are: overdraft in advance, epidemic control, economic slowdown, freight depression, insufficient investment and confidence. As far as the current situation is concerned, there is no sign of recovery in the commercial vehicle industry in the fourth quarter.
Rise against the trend
Although the heavy truck market in November was not optimistic, FAW Jiefang, Foton Automobile, JAC Heavy Truck and Shaanxi Automobile showed a "upstream" attitude. Futian also achieved five consecutive year-on-year increases in monthly sales.
Specifically, the first echelon of heavy trucks: FAW Jiefang sold about 9500 vehicles in November this year, up 11% year on year; From January to November this year, the cumulative sales volume of Jiefang Heavy Truck was 118700, with a market share of 19.3%.
Sinotruk sold about 10000 heavy trucks in November this year, and 148200 from January to November in total. The market share rose to 24%, with a year-on-year increase of 3.6 percentage points.
Dongfeng Company (including Dongfeng Commercial Vehicles, Dongfeng Liuqi Chenglong, etc.) sold 8000 heavy trucks in November this year; From January to November this year, about 111500 heavy trucks of various types were sold, with a market share of about 18.1%, and the cumulative sales still ranked the third in the industry.
Shaanxi Automobile Group sold about 8000 heavy trucks in November, and about 98700 heavy trucks from January to November, with a market share of 16%. The sales of Foton Motor in recent months have been very eye-catching, with 5 consecutive months of year-on-year growth against the trend. In November, it delivered a good result of about 4200 units, with the highest growth rate in the mainstream industry; Its cumulative sales from January to November was about 63700 vehicles, with a market share of 10.3%, up 2.7 percentage points.
The current industry situation is not optimistic, and it is difficult to see signs of recovery in the fourth quarter. Although the toll road fee has been reduced by 10% since October 1, the epidemic situation has been rampant all over the country for a long time, and a large area of silence has caused the consumption and investment industry to remain at a low point.
If both the supplier and the owner have a hard time and cannot provide sufficient supply of goods, then the demand of transportation lines will also decline, and there will be no new demand for car purchase and replacement. 2022 is nearing the end. No matter what the "war situation" is like this year, when the spring warms up and the epidemic situation disappears, it will definitely be a new high! Data source: First Commercial Vehicle Network
