In recent years, with the development of hydrogen energy industry, hydrogen energy heavy trucks have gradually attracted extensive attention. In 2018, Gan Yong, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said that "replacing diesel with hydrogen" is an important direction to promote the application of hydrogen energy. It is estimated that by 2050, more than 50% of heavy trucks will use hydrogen fuel cells as engines. Recently, there has been a new trend in hydrogen heavy trucks.
1. Fenghydrogenyang 49 tons of hydrogen energy heavy trucks march into the north in batches
Recently, the system installation and commissioning of a batch of 49 ton heavy trucks supported by Fenghydrogenyang have been officially completed, and the terminal operation customers have successfully launched the system, marking that Fenghydrogenyang has made another success in the application scenario of 49 ton heavy trucks, and has achieved coverage of the application scenario of heavy trucks in the northern region on the basis of the previous application scenario of heavy trucks in the southern region.
The 49 ton heavy truck equipped with the 120kW system of Fenghydrogenyang has been put into operation in batch for the first time in May this year, and is used for port cargo short barge. According to the customer's feedback, these vehicles have been in trouble free operation for more than half a year, and have withstood the test of high temperature in the extremely hot weather environment of the Yangtze River basin this year, maintaining a normal attendance rate.
2. The first batch of 64 hydrogen energy heavy trucks were delivered in Anyang, Henan
On November 25, Anyang held the delivery of the first batch of operating vehicles in the national hydrogen fuel cell vehicle demonstration city and the strategic release and signing of major cooperation projects of Henan Deli New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Deli").
It is understood that the promotion goal of demonstration application of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles in Anyang City is to promote 505 fuel cell vehicles in four years and build 11 hydrogen refueling stations with a daily hydrogen refueling capacity of more than 500 kg. In the first demonstration year (2022), the promotion and application goal of Anyang City is 60 fuel cell vehicles and 2 hydrogen refueling stations. The 64 fuel cell heavy trucks delivered on that day have exceeded the promotion quantity. At the same time, two hydrogen stations with a daily hydrogenation capacity of 1000 kg invested by Henan Xinlei Group and Henan Liyuan Group will complete the equipment installation by the end of this month.
3. Pengfei Group's first batch of 100 hydrogen energy heavy trucks for demonstration operation
On November 22, the first batch of 100 hydrogen energy heavy trucks of Shanxi Pengfei Group Co., Ltd. were officially put into demonstration operation, marking that the development of the hydrogen energy industry in Luliang City has entered the fast lane and is moving towards the full chain and high-quality development of "gas station transport vehicle".
The first 100 hydrogen energy heavy trucks of Pengfei Group were officially put into operation, further opening up a new field of diversified and practical scenario application of hydrogen energy in Xiaoyi City, and building a green logistics "hydrogen" mode of low energy consumption and zero pollution, marking that the development of the hydrogen energy industry in Luliang City and Xiaoyi City has entered the fast lane.
The commercialization of hydrogen energy heavy trucks is accelerating. According to incomplete statistics, the performance of hydrogen energy heavy trucks will be very impressive in 2022. In the first half of the year alone, 566 hydrogen energy heavy trucks will be sold, and Feichi Technology, Zhilan Automobile and FAW Jiefang rank in the top three, accounting for 74% of the total sales; In the second half of the year, the number of orders that have publicly reached a hydrogen energy heavy card transaction agreement has exceeded 10000 (excluding orders that have already been delivered):
On September 29, Dongfeng Commercial Vehicles, Sinopec and SDIC Hubei Hydrogen Power signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Wuhan, and signed the first batch of 200 Dongfeng hydrogen energy residue vehicles at the same time;
On September 1, CNHTC and Weichai Power signed a large order for 1100 hydrogen energy heavy trucks with Qingdao Shengtonghua Co., Ltd. and Zibo Zhanhong Automobile Co., Ltd. respectively;
On August 30, CARE Smart Bank jointly signed a large order for 600 hydrogen energy unmanned heavy trucks with a leading vehicle enterprise and CCCC;
On August 16, three enterprises of FAW Jiefang, Remolding Group and Light distance Internet of Things hydrogen fuel cell vehicles jointly signed a strategic agreement on the promotion and application of 1000 hydrogen fuel cell heavy truck vehicles;
On August 15, Jinlong Automobile, Huachang Chemical and Sinotrans signed an agreement on 500 hydrogen energy heavy trucks;
On August 11, Foshan Feichi Automobile, Guohong Hydrogen Energy and Jinnan Iron and Steel Group signed an agreement on 300 hydrogen energy heavy trucks;
On July 22, Zhongji Hydrogen Energy, Grove, Tehong Coal, Menghuitong Technology and other companies signed a large order for 5700 hydrogen energy heavy trucks;
On July 5, BAIC Foton and Yihuatong signed a large order for 500 hydrogen energy heavy trucks with Beijing Road and Bridge Group;
At the beginning of July, Dewey Cube and Xiongchuan Hydrogen signed an agreement on the cooperative operation of 82 hydrogen energy fuel cell dump trucks.
It can be seen that the promotion and application of hydrogen commercial vehicles are accelerating. According to the statistics of the China Automobile Association, the hydrogen energy heavy card has been demonstrated in small batches since 2020. In 2021, the licensing sales of traffic compulsory insurance of the hydrogen energy heavy card will account for 41%. At the same time, the domestic hydrogen energy heavy card sales have increased 42 times in the past year, accounting for 7.46% of the new energy heavy card market from 0.7% in 2020. The demand for heavy trucks in China's logistics industry and the unprecedented prosperity of the hydrogen energy heavy truck industry will play a major role in the hydrogen energy vehicle industry.
However, technological advantages and use costs are the basis for hydrogen energy heavy trucks to break through the market. However, the following problems still need to be solved to make hydrogen energy heavy trucks commercially available in large scale.
The one-time purchase cost is too high. At present, the purchase price of hydrogen fuel cell heavy trucks is more than one million, which is still a long way from real commercial use.
The current cost of hydrogen is still high. Due to the insufficient hydrogen consumption in the market, the scale, hydrogen source supply and types of hydrogen refueling stations vary from place to place, and the hydrogen sales prices of hydrogen refueling stations in different regions vary greatly. According to incomplete statistics, the terminal sales price of hydrogen in China is 50-80 yuan/kg. Although there are some subsidies, there is still a huge difference between the cost of energy consumption per hundred kilometers and that of diesel vehicles of the same type.
At present, the problem of marketing hydrogen energy heavy trucks, which is caused by the high cost of fuel cells, expensive and inconvenient hydrogenation, is gradually being solved.
On the one hand, the localization of key components and core materials of fuel cells is deepening at this stage, and the cost reduction is accelerating;
On the other hand, the number of hydrogen refueling stations landing in major demonstration areas across the country is increasing. According to incomplete statistics of GGII, a total of 207 hydrogen refueling stations have been built in China by the end of 2021, and 40 cities in 13 provinces and cities are involved in the five major demonstration city clusters. The planned target of hydrogen refueling stations set by each participating city exceeds 822 in total, especially in manufacturing, storage, transportation The emergence of the integrated hydrogenation station provides a new way to solve the problem of hydrogenation;
In addition, the development of the industry is inseparable from policy support and encouragement. In March this year, the National Development and Reform Commission issued the Medium and Long term Plan for the Development of Hydrogen Energy Industry, which for the first time raised hydrogen energy to the national energy strategic position, pointing out that hydrogen energy is an important part of the future national energy system. After that, many places have issued hydrogen energy industry plans, and some policies are obviously inclined to the heavy truck field. For example, the Medium and Long term Plan for the Development of Shanghai's Hydrogen Energy Industry (2022-2035) released by Shanghai mentioned that the application of hydrogen fuel cells in heavy vehicles should be comprehensively promoted in the transportation field, and expanded to the markets of passenger cars, trucks, forklifts, garbage trucks, sanitation vehicles and large passenger vehicles.
Under the dual carbon target, the high emission fuel heavy truck is just an important market segment to realize the replacement of new energy. Gan Yong, an academician of the CAE Member, once said that the next key application area of hydrogen energy is heavy trucks, which will lead to the era of hydrogen energy heavy trucks. Especially, replacing diesel vehicles such as diesel heavy trucks is an urgent task for the application of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.
With the continuous progress of technology and the gradual improvement of hydrogen refueling supporting facilities, the horn of hydrogen energy heavy trucks has sounded on their commercial journey.
