China's first medium and long-term hydrogen energy planning
On March 23, 2022, the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration jointly issued the Medium and Long term Plan for the Development of the Hydrogen Energy Industry (2021-2035), which clarifies the three strategic orientations of hydrogen energy and points out that hydrogen energy is an important part of the future national energy system, is an important carrier for energy terminals to achieve green and low-carbon transformation, and the hydrogen energy industry is a strategic emerging industry and the key development direction of future industries.
The Medium and Long term Plan for the Development of the Hydrogen Energy Industry (2021-2035) was launched under the intense expectation of the industry and the high attention at home and abroad. This is the first medium and long term plan for the hydrogen energy industry in China, and China's hydrogen energy industry finally ushered in the top-level design. Different from the previous positioning limited to the transportation field, the Medium and Long term Plan for the Development of Hydrogen Energy Industry (2021-2035) has raised hydrogen energy to the height of an important part of the national energy system, becoming a clean, efficient, low-carbon and pollution-free energy form that replaces existing fossil fuels. At the same time, the plan also points out the direction for key issues such as industrial positioning and application fields, which will further activate the market potential, create a good policy environment for enterprises, and inject a shot in the arm for the high-quality development of hydrogen energy industry.
The price of photovoltaic silicon material enters the downward channel

From January to October 2022, the average bid winning price of components will remain high, between 1.83 yuan/watt and 1.987 yuan/watt. At the end of November 2022, the price of photovoltaic silicon material began to decline slightly. As the new capacity of photovoltaic silicon material was gradually put into production, the price of photovoltaic silicon material entered a downward channel.
The price fluctuation of the PV supply chain is a key issue affecting the development of the PV industry. Relevant competent departments have issued a number of policies to promote the healthy development of the PV industry chain supply chain. As the offshore price of the photovoltaic industry gradually falls back, the related congestion will be gradually relieved, and the supporting supply guarantee capability of the photovoltaic industry chain supply chain will also be improved.
Steady progress has been made in the construction of large-scale scenery base projects
By the end of November 2022, the first batch of large-scale wind power photovoltaic base projects in China has been fully started, some of which have been completed and put into operation, and the second batch of large base projects are being started in succession. The National Energy Administration is speeding up the review of the third batch of projects and is expected to start construction no later than the first half of the year. The first batch of scenery base projects are mainly distributed in 19 provinces and regions, including Inner Mongolia, Qinghai, Gansu, Hunan and Anhui. The second batch of large scenic base projects include Kubuqi, Ulanbuhe, Tengger and Badain Jilin desert bases with a planned installed capacity of 284 million kilowatts, coal mining subsidence areas with a planned installed capacity of 37 million kilowatts, and other deserts and Gobi regions with a planned installed capacity of 134 million kilowatts.
The construction of large-scale wind power photovoltaic bases focusing on desert, gobi and desert areas is the top priority of new energy development during the "14th Five Year Plan". In February last year, the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration issued the second batch of plans for large scenic base projects, proposing to build a scenic base with a total installed capacity of about 455 million kilowatts by 2030, including about 200 million kilowatts planned during the "14th Five Year Plan" period.

The project, with a consortium of Chinese enterprises as the general contractor, was started in July 2020 and officially completed and put into operation on the eve of the opening of the Qatar World Cup. The project can generate about 1.8 billion kilowatt hours of green electricity every year, reduce about 900000 tons of carbon emissions, and supply clean electricity for the 2022 Qatar World Cup venues. During the World Cup, the average daily power generation of the project was 3.6 million kWh, accounting for 60% of the installed capacity of Halsa PV Power Station and 6% of the total power generation of Qatar.
Qatar's Al Qassa 800000 kilowatt photovoltaic power station is the first non fossil fuel power station in Qatar. The successful completion and operation of the project have a typical demonstration role for the development of Qatar's new energy industry, fulfilling the important commitment of the Qatari government to host a green World Cup. The power station is the third largest single photovoltaic project in the world, the first large-scale ground photovoltaic power station with full capacity connected to the grid in Qatar, and the latest achievement of China Arab clean energy cooperation.
The "Fourteenth Five Year Plan" New Energy Storage Development Implementation Plan was released
On March 21, 2022, the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration issued the Implementation Plan for the Development of New Energy Storage during the "Fourteenth Five Year Plan", proposing that by 2025, the new energy storage will enter the large-scale development stage from the initial stage of commercialization, and meet the conditions for large-scale commercial application. Among them, the performance of electrochemical energy storage technology will be further improved, and the system cost will be reduced by more than 30%. By 2030, new energy storage will be fully developed in the market. It has mapped out a precise roadmap for high-quality and large-scale development of China's new energy storage.

The world's first floating photovoltaic demonstration project with deep and far sea scenery was put into operation
On October 31, 2022, the 20000kW Deep Sea Floating Photovoltaic 500kW Demonstration Project of the No. 3 Offshore Wind Farm in the South of Shandong Peninsula of the State Power Investment Corporation of China successfully generated electricity, becoming the world's first deep sea scenery floating photovoltaic demonstration project. Different from the existing offshore photovoltaic projects in sheltered sea areas and offshore areas, this demonstration project is the first floating offshore photovoltaic project in the world to be studied and constructed in the "double 30" marine environment with an offshore distance of 30 kilometers, a water depth of 30 meters and an extreme wave height of 10 meters. It has achieved a major breakthrough in the research of floating photovoltaic projects with deep and offshore scenery, and has verified the anti wind wave ability of floating bodies, anchors, and power generation modules and the weather resistance of the marine environment.
Photovoltaic power is moving towards the deep sea. There are nearly 30 offshore photovoltaic projects in China, involving Jiangsu, Shandong, Zhejiang, Liaoning, Guangdong, etc. Shandong took the lead and made a major breakthrough in the research of the floating photovoltaic project in the same field of deep-sea and ocean scenery, and explored a technical route for the scale, commercialization and standardization of offshore photovoltaic in the future.
Chinese enterprises set a new global record for the efficiency of silicon based solar cells
