In recent two months, the market has underestimated the sales of domestic excavators for two consecutive months. Previously, CME estimated that 9250 excavators would be sold in China in September 2022, but 10520 excavators were actually sold, an underestimate of thousands. CME said that it was more difficult to predict the excavator market in China in the short term due to the factors of upgrading from "national third" to "national fourth".
Now, the sales window period of "National Third" equipment is only the last half month, and the inventory level of the main engine factory is expected to have a greater impact on the short-term domestic market sales of excavators. However, if the inventory of this round of "National Third" equipment is cleared, will it overdraw the market demand for construction machinery in the first half of next year?
The interviewees generally denied this possibility. The manufacturer pointed out that the impact will indeed be felt in the short term, but in the long term, the sales volume of excavators still depends on the construction volume. As an investment of millions at every turn, excavator procurement is usually carried out only when the customer is sure that there is a project construction. There will be no situation of stockpiling excavators three or four months in advance.
