Regular and frequent inspection can prolong the service life of manual pallet forklift and prevent accidents.
But what do you need to pay attention to?
(1) Check and fill oil
Generally, the oil level shall be checked every 6 months, and the hydraulic oil shall be filled or replaced at least once a year.
The viscosity of hydraulic pallet truck oil at 40 ℃ is 30CST and the total capacity is about 0.4 L (ISO vg32). If other oils are used, it may make the oil too thick and affect the performance.
In order to correctly refuel the pallet truck, it is best to put the fork on the bottom and the pallet truck on the side, put the oil drain plug of the oil cylinder on the top, remove the screw cap and add oil. Once this is done, the plug can be plugged back in and the pallet truck can be returned to the upright position.
(2) Lubrication
Each bearing and axle of each manual pallet forklift is lubricated by the manufacturer with long-term grease. However, in order to maintain the best operation condition of the pallet truck, the wheels, axles and grease shall be lubricated with the same type of grease after each cleaning or every month.
This will be conducive to smooth operation in the short and long term.
(3) Check the chain
It is useful to check whether the chain of the manual pallet forklift is in the correct position. It often happens that the lowering valve no longer lowers the front fork: this occurs when the chain moves. The problem is easily solved by reconnecting the chain to the lever.
Why is it important to do this kind of examination? In order to avoid problems that may affect the operation in even a short time, it needs to be replaced.
(4) Adjustment of lowering valve
If the manual pallet forklift cannot lower the fork or pump pressure correctly, you may face the failure of the lowering valve. Its systematic regulation may be decisive. On the other hand, if you realize that you can no longer pump, loosen the screw of the lowering valve.
On the other hand, if the pallet truck no longer lowers the fork, the lower valve screw will be tightened slightly.
(5) Wheel protection
Long term use of manual pallet forklifts can cause wheel wear, which may also be caused by dirt and the type of floor used. This can be avoided by regularly cleaning the wheels and removing dirt before using the pallet truck. Curbs and steps that may exist in warehouses or workplaces often become enemies of wheels. The same is true for pallet truck overload, which will cause serious consequences.
In short, in order to prolong the service life of the pallet truck, it is best not to use it on the slope, and only move it when the control lever is in the driving position, so as to facilitate the movement of the pull rod and protect the hydraulic seals and valves. Finally, always avoid overloading.
