①Check the coaxiality of the torque converter and the engine. Check the deviation of the engine crankshaft from the end face of the engine flywheel housing, it should not exceed 0.33mm. If the coaxiality error between the engine and the torque converter is found to be too large, the torque converter should be installed after correction, otherwise, abnormal load on the bearing will cause premature bearing damage.
② Inspection of guide wheels. Whether the guide wheel is working properly can be checked by observing the speed of the oil temperature drop. Fully open the engine throttle to increase the oil temperature at the outlet of the torque converter to 1 oo ° c, then loosen the output shaft of the torque converter to make the input speed reach the maximum value, and immediately check the speed of the oil temperature drop . The temperature should start to drop after 15s. Slow temperature decrease indicates that the guide wheel may be locked and the free wheel is stuck; if the temperature drops rapidly, the guide wheel is working properly.
③ Check the zero-speed working condition of the torque converter. When the torque converter is at zero speed (do not exceed 30s), make the engine fully open at the throttle, and record the engine speed, the torque converter inlet oil pressure and the lubricating oil pressure The oil temperature should not exceed 120 ° C, the inlet oil pressure of the torque converter should not be less than 0.35MPa, the lubricating oil pressure should not be less than 56MPa), compare the actual engine detected in the zero-speed working condition of the torque converter Whether the speed is consistent with the recommended engine speed (using the matching performance curve of the engine and the torque converter).
④Check the inlet pressure of the torque converter. When the engine throttle is fully opened and the torque converter is at zero speed, the pressure of the hydraulic pump is the inlet oil pressure of the torque converter. At this time, the minimum pressure of the hydraulic pump is 0.35MPa and the highest is 0.54MPa; the maximum working pressure allowed under the condition that the engine throttle is fully opened and the torque converter is unloaded is 0.85MPa. Generally, the specified limit value is not exceeded, otherwise failure will occur.
⑤ The torque converter must have a proper oil seal drain line to the tank. The inner diameter of the drain pipe should be at least 10mm. The oil circuit must be kept free of kinks or bends. The oil pipes must be installed 90 mm or less below the centerline of the torque converter. If the installation is not good, it will cause oil to leak through the torque converter pump wheel housing seal or the output shaft double oil seal.
⑥ When using the torque converter, be sure to pay attention to the hazard of high oil temperature. If the oil temperature is too high, it will not only deteriorate the oil quality, but also cause carbon deposits, make the sealed drain line unblocked, and cause the pressure of the pump shell seal to increase, resulting in the failure or complete scrap of the pump shell seal.
⑦Construction machinery equipped with a torque converter can be emptied of the original working oil if it needs to be stored for more than one month, replace the filter, install the oil drain plug, and then fill the working oil level with protective oil and run After the equipment raises the oil temperature to the highest working oil temperature, it will stop running. When the equipment is gradually cooled to the touch, all openings and vents shall be sealed with moisture-proof tape or cork, and all exposed unpainted surfaces shall be coated. High-quality protective grease is sufficient.
