Four-wheel Drive Forklift Brake Fluid Performance And Precautions

Apr 19, 2020

Castor oil-alcohol type brake fluid is no longer necessary, mineral oil type brake fluid is now gradually discontinued as synthetic brake fluid, and synthetic brake fluid is widely used.

It is made of ether, alcohol, ester and other additives added with smoothness, anti-oxidation, anti-rust, anti-swelling, etc. It has a wide working temperature scale, easy to flow at low temperature, sensitive braking, high boiling point, small loss of transpiration at high temperature It is not easy to produce gas, and it is less corrosive to metal parts and rubber parts, so it is widely used.

1. Four-wheel drive forklift requirements for brake fluid function

(1) Outstanding low-temperature function: If the brake fluid has poor fluidity at low temperature, simple condensation will cause the pipeline, pump, etc. to block, and the brake pedal will feel very hard during braking, and it will not be able to brake because it cannot be stepped on. It is generally required that the brake fluid does not condense at -40 ° C and flows freely.

(2) Appropriate viscosity: If the viscosity is too large, the fluidity at low temperature will deteriorate, and the braking function will decrease; if the viscosity is too low, reliable smooth and simple leakage cannot be provided in a high-temperature environment. In order to ensure that the brake cylinder and rubber cup can slide well, it is required that the brake fluid has an appropriate viscosity.

(3) The boiling point should be high: the forklift truck travels and reverses frequently during each working cycle, and the brake pads are in the braking condition for a long time, which increases the temperature of the brake system. Part of the brake system's pipeline will be filled with brake fluid vapor, which will cause gas anger and cause brake failure. Therefore, it is required that the brake fluid should have a higher boiling point (dry boiling point is the boiling point when the brake fluid does not contain water, and the wet boiling point is the boiling point of the brake fluid containing a certain amount of water), and lower transpiration to reduce the occurrence of air resistance .

(4) Good corrosion resistance: In order to ensure that the brake fluid will not corrode the metal pipes and components for a long time, it is required to add anti-rust agent to the brake fluid.

(5) Outstanding chemical stability: When the brake fluid is used at high temperature for a long time, it is required not to cause thermal differentiation and coincidence to thicken the oil, nor to allow the formation of sludge deposits.

(6) Little impact on rubber: There are many rubber seals in the brake system. In order not to reduce the mechanical strength and elasticity of the rubber seals such as brake cups, it is required that the brake fluid has a small effect on the expansion rate of the rubber. Avoid prolonged changes in strength, volume and mass caused by leather cups and other long-term soaking in brake fluid.

2. Precautions for using brake fluid

(1) Pour a small amount of brake fluid on the palm, the real brake fluid will generally feel a little cold first, and after a while, you will feel some fever, and the brake fluid will not simply evaporate; Slowly evaporating, it is likely to be fake brake fluid.

(2) Before changing the brake fluid, the oil dirt and mud at the brake system fluid port and the bleed screw must be cleaned to prevent impurities from entering. The brake system should be cleaned according to the rules of the protection manual, and the same type of brake fluid should be used to clean the brake system. It is best not to use alcohol or cleaning agents.

(3) The brake fluid has certain toxicity and cannot be drawn with the mouth.

(4) The brake fluid has a damaging effect on the coating on the body surface, and a "bite of paint" will occur. Therefore, when replacing and refilling, it is necessary to prevent the brake droplets from falling on the coating of the vehicle body.

(5) It is prohibited to mix with other brake fluids. After mixing, there will be turbidity or sedimentation, which will not only greatly reduce the function of the original brake fluid, but also the sediment particles will block the pipeline and cause serious consequences of brake failure. Even the brake fluids of the same variety with good compatibility can not be mixed if the brands are different. Because of the good compatibility, it only clarifies that there is no stratification, turbidity and sedimentation after mixing with other 名媛直播. It does not mean that the function after mixing will not change. The additives added to each product are different and there is a relative balance between each other. Once mixed with other substances to break the original balance, it will lose its original function. Therefore, when replacing brake fluids of different brands, the product to be participated must be used to clean the pipeline.
