Tips Forklift parking and storage knowledge
For machines, maintenance is more important than repair, and electric forklifts are no exception. Therefore, in daily life, we must pay attention to the routine daily maintenance of electric forklifts, so as to effectively reduce the loss of electric forklifts and increase their service life.
Safe parking
(a) Park the car on level ground, preferably in a spacious place. If you have to stop on the slope, you must pull the parking brake device well and block the wheels with a wedge to prevent accidental slipping. It is strictly forbidden to park the forklift on a large slope.
(b) The vehicle is parked in a designated area or a place that does not obstruct traffic. If necessary, install signs or signal lights around the vehicle.
(c) The vehicle is parked on hard ground, avoiding parking on soft, muddy or slippery roads.
(d) If the lifting system is damaged and the fork cannot fall to the ground, hang a warning flag on the end of the fork and park the car in a place that does not obstruct traffic.
Forklift storage
Before storage
Before storing the forklift, thoroughly clean it and check it according to the following procedures:
(a) If necessary, use a cloth and water to remove oil and grease attached to the car body.
(b) When cleaning the car body, check the overall situation of the car, especially to check whether the car body is dented or damaged, whether the tire is punctured, and whether there are iron nails or stones embedded in the pattern.
(c) Fill the fuel tank with the specified fuel.
(d) Check for oil leakage.
(e) Add grease as needed.
(f) Check whether the joint surface of the hub nut and the cylinder piston rod is loose, and whether the piston rod surface has bruises and pull marks.
(g) Check whether the roller of the mast rotates smoothly.
(h) Lift the lifting cylinder to the top to allow the oil to fill the cylinder.
(i) In winter or cold seasons, the long-acting antifreeze does not need to be drained, if it is cooling water, it needs to be drained.
Daily storage
a) Park the forklift at the designated place and pad the wheels with a wedge.
(b) Put the shift handle in the neutral position and pull up the parking brake handle.
(c) Turn off the engine when the key switch is in the "OFF" position, operate the multi-way valve lever several times to release the remaining pressure in the cylinder or pipeline.
(d) Remove the key and keep it in a safe place.
Long-term storage
Make the following maintenance and inspections on the basis of "daily storage" maintenance:
(a) Considering the rainy season, park the vehicle on a high and hard ground.
(b) Apply anti-rust oil to exposed parts such as cylinder rods and shafts that may rust.
(c) Cover parts that are susceptible to moisture.
(d) The vehicle is started at least once a week. If the cooling water is released, add cooling water, remove the grease on the piston rod and shaft, start the engine and fully warm up, let the vehicle run forward and backward at a slow speed, and operate the hydraulic control several times.
(e) Avoid parking the forklift on soft roads such as asphalt in summer.
Operation of the forklift after long-term storage
(a) Remove the anti-rust oil of the exposed parts.
(b) Drain the engine crankcase oil, drain the gear oil or hydraulic transmission oil in the differential, hydraulic transmission, and clean the interior and add new oil.
(c) Remove foreign objects and water from the hydraulic oil tank and fuel tank.
(d) Remove the engine cylinder head, valve and rocker shaft, and check whether the clearance of each valve is normal.
(e) Add coolant to the specified liquid level.
(f) Perform pre-start inspection carefully.
(g) Warm up the forklift.
note
As long as it is found that the forklift needs repair, failure or unsafe factors, it should report the situation to the management personnel and stop using the forklift until it returns to a safe state.
