Maintenance Of Forklift Battery

Apr 13, 2020

Forklift battery maintenance:

1. Where to pay attention

1. The liquid level is lower than the rated liquid level, which will shorten the service life of the battery, and too little electrolyte will cause the battery to heat and damage. Therefore, you must always pay attention to whether the electrolyte is sufficient.

2. The terminals, wires, and covers must always be checked for corrosion caused by oxidation at the junction of the battery terminals and the connections with the wires, and at the same time, whether the covers are deformed or heated.

3. Appearance

Dirty battery surface will cause leakage, and the battery surface should be clean and dry at any time.

Second, maintenance

1. Add water

Add distilled water according to the specified liquid level. Do not add too much distilled water in order to prolong the interval of adding water. If too much water is added, the electrolyte will overflow, causing leakage.

2. The repair of the binding posts, wires and covers must be carried out by professional technicians appointed by the manufacturer.

3. Clean

If it is not too dirty, you can wipe it with a damp cloth. If it is very dirty, you should remove the battery from the car, wash it with water and let it dry naturally.

Forklift battery maintenance:

1. Before cutting off the connection between the battery and the charger, first check the display of the charger and the records of the charger. If there is an error message displayed on the panel of the charger, the charging of the battery is not completed. During the charging process, you need to contact the after-sales service personnel. When checking to confirm that the charging condition is normal, record the charging time of the charger, the output capacity and the average voltage of the cell at the end of charging, and then disconnect the battery and the charger.

2. Clean the dust on the surface of the battery to avoid forming a discharge circuit on the surface of the battery and shorten the discharge time of the battery. But be careful not to rinse with water, just wipe with a clean cloth.

3. Check the connection between the cells of the battery and the connection of the power output line of the battery to ensure that the battery is well connected to ensure that the current output is smooth.

4. Before connecting the plug of the battery to the power socket of the electrical appliance of the forklift, first check whether the electrolyte level of each cell of the battery is within the standard range. If the electrolyte level is low, add distilled water to Standard range (generally requires the liquid level of the electrolyte to cover the plate 10-

15mm. If possible, use the battery's automatic water addition system to ensure that each time the water is added at the correct level). After filling, connect the battery to the power socket of the forklift.
