1. Damage and repair of universal joint cross shaft
1) When there are scores, dents on the surface of the journal of the cross shaft, and the journal wear is greater than 0.04mm, it can be repaired by chrome plating or iron plating. It is also possible to grind the four journals to the same size, and then use a needle roller with an enlarged size. When the carbon layer is insufficient after shrinking the journal, carburization and heat treatment should be performed. The roundness and cylindricity error of the journal after grinding should not be greater than 0.01mm; the error of the perpendicularity of the two axes should not be greater than 0.1mm.
2) During assembly, the clearance between the journal and the bearing is 0.02-0.09mm, and the maximum clearance should not be greater than 0.13mm.
3) The universal joint bearing needle rollers should be replaced if they are worn, cracked, or grooved.
2. Inspection and repair of universal joint sliding fork
1) If the sliding joint of the universal joint is broken, it should be replaced.
2) When the needle bearing housing hole is worn, it can be repaired by surfacing welding, and then boring to fit the size.
3) The thread of the bearing cover plate should be tightened, and the stop groove and the pin ring should cooperate, and there should be no looseness.
