How To Repair The Axle Housing Of A Forklift?

Repair method of drive axle housing of forklift:

  The axle housing of the forklift is firmly installed on the forklift frame. Because the drive axle and the frame are rigidly connected, the forklift will bear most of the weight during forklift picking, handling, and stacking operations, and there will be uneven roads and uneven load on the fork frame, so the drive axle will appear Bending, rupture, half shaft sleeve bearing hole wear and half shaft sleeve journal wear and other damage.

 1. Inspection and repair of forklift drive axle housing bending:

 1) Inspection of drive axle housing bending. Before the inspection, the flatness of the half-shaft and the flat contact flange of the hub end should be corrected first to eliminate the rounding error of the end face. Then install the standard half-shaft on the drive axle housing, tighten the bearings, and test the center of the left and right half-shafts from the shell Position, determine whether there is bending. The difference between the two axes should not be greater than 0.75mm.

 2) Correction should be made when the bending of the drive axle housing exceeds the limit. During the correction, the correction deformation amount should not be greater than the original bending deformation amount, and the correction pressure should be maintained for a period of time to make the axle housing get a certain plastic deformation. If the deformation is too large and the bending deformation is greater than 2mm, it can be corrected after preheating, but the heating temperature is not allowed to exceed 700℃. The cast axle housing is best to avoid heating correction.

 2. Repair of broken axle housing of forklift:

 The cracks in the middle of the drive axle housing and the cracks on the flange can be repaired by welding. The operation points are as follows:

 1) A 90° V-shaped groove is formed along the crack, and its depth is 2/3 of the thickness.

 2) Drill holes with a diameter of 5mm at 6-10mm from both ends of the crack.

 3) Welding repair cracks, the welding layer should be higher than the basic metal, but not more than 1mm. After the front side is welded, the welding repair is performed on the back side. After welding, the weld seam should be flattened. If the welding repair is on the working plane, the flatness error should not be greater than 0.25mm.

 4) After the crack is repaired, the reinforced web should be welded at the crack, its thickness is generally 4-6mm, and the reinforced web should be symmetrical to the center of the drive axle housing.

 5) If the crack penetrates to the axle cover of the drive axle or the flange plane of the main reducer, a reinforced web ring should be welded after welding. The reinforced abdominal ring of the drive axle housing cover plane can be reconnected to the outside, and the main reducer housing should be reconnected to the inner surface as the internal space permits. When welding the reinforced belly ring, the reinforced belly ring should be pressed tightly on the flat surface with bolts to avoid position shift and deflection during welding.

 6) The repaired drive axle housing shall be re-examined for straightness error, flatness error of the cover surface of the housing and the flange surface of the main reducer, and shall be corrected and ground to meet the standards.

 3. Inspection and repair of other parts:

 1) The coaxiality error of the inner and outer bearing seat necks at both ends of the axle housing should not be greater than 0.01mm; the perpendicularity error of the bearing seat neck and its thrust end surface should not be greater than 0.05mm; the bearing seat neck should be perpendicular to the plane of the flange of the brake bottom plate, The verticality error should not be greater than 0.1mm.

 2) The thread damage of the screw hole should be no more than 2 buckles.

 3) When the wear of the oil seal journal is greater than 0.15mm, it can be repaired with a sleeve.

 4) When the journal wear of the rolling bearing of the half-shaft bushing is greater than 0.04mm, it can be repaired by chrome plating or surfacing.

 5) If there is any kind of crack or defect in the half shaft sleeve, it should be replaced.

 6) The wear of the inner and outer end seat holes of the axle housing casing half shaft casing shall not be greater than 0.06mm, otherwise the axle shaft journal of the half shaft casing may be chrome-plated or expanded to repair size.

 7) When the axle housing is broken, it should be replaced.
