2、 Maintenance of charging fault
1. diagnose whether it is charged
1) Start the engine and gradually increase the speed. If the reading of the combination instrument voltmeter changes from 13V to 14.5V (27v~28.8v for 24V system), the charging is good. Otherwise, the charging is faulty; If the combination instrument is broken, use a multimeter to measure the battery charging voltage.
2) If the combination instrument is broken and there is no multimeter on site, a local method can be used: start the engine at medium speed, turn on the excavator light, and then remove the negative wire of the battery. If the excavator light continues to be on, the charging is good, otherwise, the charging is faulty.
2. diagnose the electrical appliance with charging failure
There is a charging fault. In addition to checking whether the battery, belt and line are disconnected and short circuited, the most common fault is that the voltage regulator or generator is faulty. To diagnose which of the voltage regulator or generator is faulty, a simple method can be used: remove the magnetic field terminal (f) line on the voltage regulator, connect the (f) line to the voltage regulator (+) pole, start the engine and gradually increase the speed, but the speed should not be too high, Avoid excessive voltage. If it can generate electricity, the fault lies in the voltage regulator; If the generator cannot generate electricity, it indicates that the fault is in the generator itself.
