Grader Operation And Driving Requirements

May 26, 2020

The grader is a high-speed, high-efficiency, high-precision and multi-purpose earthmoving machinery. It can complete large-area ground leveling and trenching, slope scraping, bulldozing, snow removal, loosening, compaction, cloth distribution, mixing, auxiliary installation and wasteland development for large-scale roads and farmland. This article introduces the requirements of grader operation and driving.

When starting the engine, the time should not exceed 30s at a time. If you need to start again, you must turn the key back to the off state and wait for 3 minutes before starting.

After the engine is started, the reading of each meter should be within the specified value range. When the engine is running, do not operate the cold start switch, otherwise it will cause serious damage to the engine. During the operation process, if the alarm signal lights flash or the alarm sounds, the work of the grader should be stopped as soon as possible, and the work can be continued only after the fault is identified and eliminated.

During the work, pay attention to whether the indication value of each instrument is normal.

Both shoveling and raking operations must be carried out at low speeds and low speeds, and soil removal and leveling operations can be driven at higher speeds as appropriate. When the hard soil needs to be loosened with a ripper, the teeth should be gradually lowered slowly to avoid breaking the tooth crest. Rippers are not allowed to turn over slag roads and high-grade roads, so as not to damage the machine parts or other accidents.

Do not put your feet on the clutch pedal when driving the motor grader. Use the clutch when starting, stopping or steering. When the engine is running at high speed, do not switch to the lower gear to avoid damage to the transmission.

When turning, the front wheel can be used to lean to reduce the turning radius of the grader, but it should not be used when driving at high speed to prevent sharp reaction forces. After steering, set the front wheels in a vertical position.

When working, the scraper should be lowered to close to the ground, and then the scraper should be lowered to shovel the soil. When shoveling soil, the cutting depth of the scraper should be adjusted at any time according to the size of the shovel resistance, and the difference in the lifting amount of the scraper should not be too large to prevent a wavy working surface.

The rotation of the scraper, the adjustment of the shovel angle and the incline to the outside of the machine must be carried out when the machine is stopped; however, the lifting action of the left and right ends of the scraper can be carried out at any time during the mechanical travel.
