How To Measure LS Differential Pressure Of Excavator?

Dec 27, 2021

Simultaneously measure the pump output pressure and LS pressure (actuator load pressure) and calculate the pressure difference between them.

① Open the side cover of the pump compartment and remove the oil pressure inspection plug.

② Install the nipple m3 and connect it to the differential pressure gauge m2 or the oil pressure gauge of the hydraulic detector M1.

When using a differential pressure gauge: connect the pump output pressure to the high pressure side (back side) and the LS pressure to the low pressure side (lower side). Since the differential pressure gauge needs a 12V power supply, it is connected with the battery. When the oil pressure gauge (M1) is used, the 588mpa oil pressure gauge with the unit of 0.98mpa is used. Since the maximum differential pressure is 39Mpa, it is necessary to measure the differential pressure by alternately installing the same oil pressure gauge on the inspection plug.

③ Run the engine and use the working device to push up the track shoe on the measuring side to prepare for the idle operation of the track shoe.

Push the right track shoe when measuring the front oil circuit and the left track shoe when measuring the rear oil circuit.

Since the lifted track shoe will idle during the measurement, ensure that there is sufficient working area.

④ Set the working mode to power mode P and set the travel speed to high speed.

⑤ Run the engine at high idle, center all operating levers and pedals of the working device, swing and travel, and measure the oil pressure at each speed. Then, operate the travel control lever to idle the track shoe and measure the oil pressure.

Note: the raised track shoe can be idled only after the safety around the machine is checked very carefully.

Do not operate the travel control to the end of the stroke (stop it at half distance) ⑥ after the measurement, remove the measuring tool and reinstall the removed parts
