The method of judging the fault of the thermostat

One, the check after the engine is started.


First, open the lid of the cooling water tank and see if there is water flow in the cooling water of the cooling water tank. If there is no flow phenomenon, it is indicated that the thermostat has been damaged or there is a foreign object stuck between the main valve switches.

When the water temperature meter indicates less than 70 C, see if there is water flow at the inlet pipe of the radiator. If the water temperature is hot, it may be the large circulation of the cooling water too early. At this time, the main valve of the thermostat may be shut down.


When the water temperature is higher than 80 degrees Celsius, look through the water tank cover to see if the water flow, if there is no flow indicating that the thermostat fault, need to be replaced.


Three, observe the water temperature meter to see if the water temperature meter is abnormal.


When the water temperature is less than 80 degrees, the water temperature meter usually rises rapidly at the beginning of the operation of the engine.  When the water temperature is higher than 80 degrees, the speed of the pointer moves slower, indicating that the thermostat is normal. If the water temperature has been rising rapidly, especially when the pressure in the water tank reaches a certain degree, the boiling water suddenly spills, which indicates that the main valve has a stagnation or the failure of the thermostat.


Four, the way to feel the water temperature by hand.


Open the radiator to add water cover and waterproof switch, use hand to feel the temperature of the coolant, if hot, it indicates that the temperature is normal; if the water temperature of the water inlet is low, there is no cooling fluid in the water inlet of the radiator and the outflow is very little, it indicates that the main valve of the thermostat has a problem, and it should be repaired in time.
