Kato Excavator Inspection And Replacement Of Engine Oil

Jun 17, 2021

Check procedure

If the oil level gauge shows that the oil level is lower than the normal oil level, the oil should be full. Note that the oil filling should not exceed the "FULL" position

[note]

① When checking the oil level, the machine should be kept on a level ground.

② Clean the oil filling port before adding oil to ensure that no dirt enters the oil.

③After adding oil, wait 5-6 minutes before checking the oil level. If you check immediately after adding, it may still show that the oil level is low.

④Choose suitable engine oil.

⑤ Spilled engine oil may cause a fire, so the spilled oil should be wiped off immediately.

1. Inspection and replacement inspection interval:

Check the engine oil before work.

Replacement interval: every 500 hours of work.

A new excavator should change the engine oil after 60 hours of operation.

Engine oil volume is 22 L.

Oil tank 18L.

Oil filter and other 4L.

2. Disassemble the engine and hydraulic pump

Remove the hydraulic pump connection hose.

(1) Remove all hoses from the pump.

[Note] Before removing the suction hose, drain all hydraulic oil in the oil container.

(2) Remove the engine control cable (accelerator brake cable and stop cable) from the engine.

(3) Disconnect the heater hose and fuel hose from the engine (because the machine is equipped with a heater).

[note]

Before removing the fuel hose, drain all fuel.

(4) Disconnect the air conditioner from the engine (because the machine is equipped with an air conditioner).

(5) Remove the bolts that fix the engine, tie the engine to the cargo wire rope, and the crane will lift the engine down.

[note]

①The torque for tightening the engine mounting bolts is 373N.m.

② The wire to the engine must be disconnected.

Engine mass: 500kg (net weight); hydraulic pump mass: 126 kg.

(6) Assembly.

Install engine accessories.

Use the reverse procedure of disassembly to install, and then check the following points.

①Whether the engine control equipment is installed in the correct position.

②Whether the drain plug under the engine is loose or whether the washer is installed properly.

Whether the fan belt is tight. Check whether the fan belt pulley is out of order and whether the fan belt has friction.
